Position Overview
We are seeking a self-driven and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer to join a growing fire protection team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fire sprinkler system layout and the technical ability to design code-compliant systems. This role offers strong growth potential, with opportunities to increase compensation based on skills development and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Design and layout water-based fire protection (fire sprinkler) systems using industry-standard software
Perform hydraulic calculations and determine pipe sizing requirements
Review architectural and structural drawings to ensure accurate, conflict-free system design
Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and architects to resolve site-specific issues
Prepare and submit design packages for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) review and approval
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in English and Spanish
Requirements
Minimum 1+ year of experience in fire sprinkler system layout/design
Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
Experience with Revit and AutoSprink (preferred)
Must have access to a vehicle for work-related travel
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering (preferred)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
NICET Level I, II, or III certification in Water-Based Systems Layout
Experience working with BIM coordination and models
Familiarity with field installation coordination and design adjustments
