Position Summary Forward Edge-AI is seeking two Software Engineering Interns to support development of advanced technical platforms within the Advanced Research & Technology team.
This role will focus on backend development, embedded interface support, and web-based management platform enhancements. Interns will contribute to coding, debugging, testing, and integration of software components supporting secure devices and management systems.
The ideal candidate has a strong programming foundation and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities Software Development - Assist with development of core software platform components
- Contribute to backend services and API development
- Support development of web-based management portal features
- Write, test, and debug code in Python, C, and PHP
Web & Interface Development - Support frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Assist with integration between frontend and backend services
- Enhance user interface functionality and performance
Integration & Automation - Support integration between software components and system interfaces
- Develop automation scripts and tools to improve development workflows
- Assist in building scalable and maintainable system components
Testing & Troubleshooting - Participate in testing and validation of software features
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across the platform
- Support debugging efforts across backend, frontend, and integration layers
Documentation & Collaboration - Document development work, updates, and technical processes
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams
- Participate in team discussions and agile development activities
Required Qualifications - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Strong programming background
- Experience with Python
- Experience with C or C-based languages
- Experience with PHP
- Web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Understanding of backend and frontend development concepts
- Familiarity with Linux environments
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid/fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications - Experience building APIs or backend services
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Exposure to embedded systems or device-level software
- Experience with debugging tools and development frameworks
- Interest in secure systems, encryption, or communications platforms
