Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Associate Attorney
Locations: Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, or Washington, DC
Salary: $260,000–$420,000 (based on experience)
Direct counsel is seeking a Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Associate Attorney with 3–7 years of legal experience to join a national law firm in its Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy practice. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, solid academic credentials, and prior law firm experience. Chapter 11 debtor experience is preferred, and bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus.
ResponsibilitiesDraft pleadings, motions, and Chapter 11-related documents, including plan, acquisition, and financing documents.
Research federal bankruptcy law, state debtor/creditor issues, and cross-border Chapter 15 matters.
Assist with discovery and litigation in connection with adversary and contested matters.
Collaborate with partners, associates, and clients in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
3–7 years of legal experience; prior law firm experience strongly preferred.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple matters efficiently.
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the relevant state.
