Local CDL-A Truck Driver – Chester, NY | Home Daily | $85K–$100K

Position: Local CDL-A Driver

Location: Chester, NY

Home Time: Daily

Average Annual Pay: $85,000 – $100,000

Compensation Overview

• Average annual pay: $85,000 – $100,000
• CPM: $0.68 – $0.74
• Weekly miles: approximately 1,400
• Stop pay available
• Holiday pay available
• Activity-based pay plan

Schedule & Home Time

• Home daily
• Start times: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• 5-day work week
• Days off: Wednesday and Thursday
• Optional 6th day available
• 6th days may be mandatory around major holidays

Freight & Equipment

• Fresh and frozen grocery freight
• Deliveries to supermarkets and distribution centers
• Operating area: 250-mile radius of Chester, NY
• Multi-stop loads, usually 15+ stops per week
• Mostly no-touch freight
• Day cab equipment
• Automatic and manual trucks
• Slip-seat operation

Operating Area

• New York Hudson Valley
• Long Island
• New York City after required training
• New Jersey
• Connecticut
• Pennsylvania backhauls as needed

Job Duties

• Deliver grocery freight on 48 ft, 51 ft, and 53 ft reefer trailers
• Complete local store and distribution center deliveries
• Pick up return product at final stop when required
• Pick up backhauls returning to the distribution center
• Assist with unloading when needed
• Use pallet jack when required
• Provide strong customer service at delivery locations

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• Minimum 3 months tractor-trailer experience
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work daily
• Must be comfortable with multi-stop local delivery work
• Must be willing to support other local accounts as needed
• Must be available to work holidays if scheduled

Additional Details

• New drivers will not run NYC until they have been on the account 6 months or longer
• Drivers will train with NYC-certified trainers before solo NYC routes
• Only 20–25% of freight delivers in NYC
• Uniforms are provided and maintained
• Trucks cannot be taken home
• Drivers may support other local accounts 2–3 days per week
