Actalent Scientific is seeking a Temporary Technician to join our client's innovative and collaborative group. This position offers a unique

opportunity to contribute to both the loading dock operations and the vivarium cage wash under direct supervision. The role involves receiving and processing incoming products, managing inventory, restocking supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE), and supporting vivarium operations as needed. Vivarium responsibilities include cleaning cages and equipment, maintaining the facility, and ensuring seamless daily operations.

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:

• Receiving and inspecting incoming products, and promptly reporting any discrepancies to management.
• Organizing, labeling, and storing all products and PPE in designated locations.
• Operating equipment such as manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and drum lifts to safely handle chemicals, while ensuring the loading dock remains clean and organized.
• Communicating professionally with management, colleagues, and suppliers/vendors.
• Following instructions carefully and seeking clarification when needed.
• Demonstrating punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Cleaning cages, equipment, water bottles, and food containers in the vivarium.
• Performing janitorial maintenance of vivarium rooms and restocking supplies.
• Conducting preventative maintenance of vivarium equipment and supplies.
• Completing monthly sanitization of vivarium equipment and facilities.
• Maintaining accurate records of supplies and equipment and restocking as necessary.
• Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

This role requires High School Diploma or equivalent technical certificate. Pursuit of Purina and/or AALAS certification at the ALAT level is desired (required within the first year of employment). A minimum of one year of experience in animal care is helpful but not mandatory.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Tarrytown, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Tarrytown,NY.
